NetDimensions Builds on Rackspace Private Cloud to Provide Seamless and Secure SaaS Solutions

< Hong Kong >  –  Rackspace® ( NYSE:  RAX ) the #1 managed cloud company, today announced that NetDimensions ( AIM: NETD; OTCQX: NETDY ), a global provider of talent management solutions to high-consequence industries, is using Rackspace Private Cloud services to host its award-winning NetDimensions Talent Suite for clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa ( EMEA ) – with operations driven out of APAC.

NetDimensions’ Secure SaaS ( software as a service ) offering uses Rackspace Private Cloud to combine the power, efficiency and features of a public cloud with the security, control and performance of a dedicated environment. The global SaaS services team, which is partly based in Hong Kong, gives NetDimensions’ clients in the EMEA region immediate global access to their dedicated instance of NetDimensions Talent Suite, which is localized for them and regularly upgraded with new innovations and features.

Private clouds can be complex to operate as they require experts who understand cloud architecture and know how to upgrade, patch, secure, monitor, and scale a cloud environment. With Rackspace managing its private cloud, including physical machines, operating and cloud systems application layer, NetDimensions ensures its Secure SaaS solution is both seamless and readily available. This is vital because NetDimensions’ clients operate in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, manufacturing and life sciences.

“Our team in Hong Kong has worked with NetDimensions for years, and we are pleased to continue the management of their private cloud, while providing support on design, operation and optimisation - all the complications that come with Private Cloud. This allows NetDimensions to put all their efforts into their provision of solutions for their clients,” said Adam McCarthy, Rackspace’s senior director and general manager, Asia.

NetDimensions serves over 400 clients and more than 4.4 million active users worldwide with integrated learning, knowledge and performance management solutions either as hosted Secure SaaS or on-premise deployments. NetDimensions provides companies, government agencies and other organizations with talent management solutions to personalize learning, share knowledge, enhance performance, foster collaboration, and manage compliance programs for employees, customers, partners and suppliers. Established in 1999, it is the only talent management vendor to focus on highly regulated industries, where operational and compliance requirements are complex and mission critical.

The Rackspace Private Cloud creates a stable infrastructure to meet NetDimensions’ stringent requirements for high availability, mobility, security and control. The system is also highly scalable. Some NetDimensions clients currently support more than 100,000 users in a single environment, and the system offers the potential to scale to more than 500,000 users as required.

At the heart of the Rackspace service is its award-winning Fanatical Support®. By offering 24x7x365 support and industry-leading service level agreements that guarantee exceptional reliability and uptime, it had huge appeal for NetDimensions.

“My experience with the service from Rackspace has been first-class,” said Steve Schechter, the head of global SaaS operations for NetDimensions, based in APAC. “My top priority is the delivery of seamless services to our clients and, in terms of hosting, that means no downtime. What Fanatical Support from Rackspace ensures is that whenever I reach out, I get an answer quickly; I feel that my priorities become their priorities.”

The Rackspace results-obsessed, can-do approach to customer service means that its support team, engineers and architects and their specialized expertise are always available to NetDimensions. With Rackspace handling day-to-day management of the cloud hardware and virtual machines, and serving as its strategic partner and advisor, NetDimensions has access to resources that it does not have in-house. This frees its IT team to focus on its core business – creating and delivering secure, flexible and practical talent management solutions to organizations in high-consequence industries worldwide.
